**Details:**
- **Hospital Cardiac Surgery Program:** We have a growing program for heart surgeries.
- **Trauma Level:** We are a Level II trauma center.
- **Work Setting:** Most of the work is in the hospital. Sometimes, you may need to supervise CRNAs (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists) at an outpatient surgery center (ASC) if there are no scheduled heart surgeries.
- **Documentation System/EMR:** We currently use Cerner but will soon switch to EPIC. Some paperwork is still done on paper.
- **Surgeries Each Day:** Usually, there is 1 heart surgery per day, but not every day. There are also 5-7 general surgeries every day. If there are no heart surgeries, you should help with general surgeries.
- **Anesthesiologists in Practice:** There are 6 anesthesiologists in the team.
- **Patient Ages:** We care for patients of all ages: teenagers, children, adults, and elderly. Very sick children are sent to other hospitals that are better equipped for their care.
- **Operating Rooms:** There are 8 operating rooms used at the same time.
**Estimated Credentialing Time:** It takes about 8 to 12 weeks to complete the credentialing process.
**Qualifications Required:**
- **Cardiac Anesthesiology Certification:** It's preferred that you are Board Certified in Cardiac Anesthesiology, but we will also consider those who are Board Eligible.
- **License:** You must have an active Iowa license or IMLC (Interstate Medical Licensure Compact). You need to upload a copy of your Letter of Qualification when checking the name.
- **TEE Certification:** You must be able to read, interpret, and bill for TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiography) procedures, not just place the probe. This is required.
- **Cardiac Fellowship:** It's preferred that you have completed a cardiac fellowship, but extensive experience is acceptable if you are TEE certified.
- **Certifications:** You must have BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications.
- **COVID Vaccination:** You must be vaccinated against COVID-19.
- **Availability:** You must be available on the requested dates.
- **Background Check:** You need to have a clean malpractice and background record.
