Organizational Systems Strategy Associate

The Opportunity

We need somebody that is passionate about helping organizations develop effective strategies and work practices for DoD acquisition programs. They need to be driven to analyze organizational and programmatic challenges, uncover underlying mechanisms, and support the development of proprietary strategy frameworks. Using client data from interviews, observations, and research, they will support DoD acquisition offices and programs by enabling strategy development, problem-solving, opportunity capture, and planning.

This is an opportunity to have a direct impact on strategy for federal defense programs. The government organizations behind these programs need support developing new technologies and services amid complex and legacy systems. We support them in capturing and aligning their visions, objectives, and practices into cohesive strategy that clearly defines how they generate value.

As an Organizational Systems Strategy Associate, you will take a leadership role in collecting data about the client's opportunities, directives, mission, and current strategy. You will support and lead consultants in translating that data into tractable strategy models, actionable recommendations for objectives, and useful frameworks that enable our clients to be confident in how they create value for their customers. You will support identifying client needs that are new opportunities for our team. You will support and lead communicating with program leaders. You will support developing the strategy tools and frameworks we use.

You Have

  • 3+ years of experience with strategy development for clients
  • Experience adapting strategy frameworks to client-specific needs
  • Experience executing interview-based data collection and analysis
  • Experience independently executing on defined objectives
  • Experience building presentations using tools such as PowerPoint
  • Experience discerning and capturing leaders' needs in interview and meetings
  • Experience leading communication of findings and recommendations to leaders
  • Knowledge of organization strategy and how it is developed
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have

  • 5+ years of experience with strategy development for clients
  • Experience with strategy development, including for entrepreneurship or innovation
  • Experience capturing and assessing data for strategy development
  • Experience developing strategy and programs with cross-functional technical experts
  • Knowledge of DoD acquisitions, including for the Navy
  • Knowledge of Navy organization and operations
  • Knowledge of fundamental principles of how organizations generate value
  • Knowledge of entrepreneurial strategy
  • Knowledge of innovation strategy
  • Bachelor's degree in a Strategy, Entrepreneurship, or Organization Theory field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
