Headquartered in Boston, Veolia has more than 10,000 employees working at more than 350 locations across North America. **Job Description** **Position Purpose:** Responsible for maintaining and operating heavy equipment used in operations, including; skid loaders, backhoes and front end loaders used in industrial settings. Work duties may require minor mechanical maintenance and repairs. **Primary Duties/Responsibilities:** + Ability to operate heavy, power-driven equipment to increase efficiency and productivity. + Maintain and repair heavy, power-driven equipment. + Ability to clearly and concisely communicate site conditions or changes in conditions to management. + Ensures the documentation of equipment maintenance history through the use of the CMMS System. + Works independent of or with operations and contractors. + Possible other duties as assigned. **Work Environment:** + Occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and works near moving mechanical parts. + Possibility of exposure to extreme outdoor weather conditions such as ice and snow. **Qualifications** **Education/Experience/Background:** + High School Diploma/GED is required. + 2 to 5 years in an industrial environment or related work experience preferred. **Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:** + Operational characteristics of a variety of heavy, power driven equipment. + Maintenance requirements of heavy, power driven equipment. + Methods used in general industrial work. + Understanding of occupational hazards and safe work practices. + Must be able to participate in after-hours emergency call-outs. **Required Certification/Licenses/Training:** + Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. + Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check. **Additional Information** **Benefits:** Veolia's comprehensive benefits package includes paid time off policies, as well as health, dental, vision, life insurance, savings accounts, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteering and more.
