Forklift Operator / Warehouse Associate
Location: Des Plaines, IL
Shift: Various (Tuesday-Saturday 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 1:00 PM–9:30 PM)
Pay: $18.50 per hour

Overview:

This role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate handling of freight within the warehouse. Duties include receiving, loading/unloading, inventory handling, and general warehouse upkeep. You’ll work with freight documentation and warehouse systems to ensure compliance and organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, and book in freight; report discrepancies or damages.

• Operate reach trucks, stand-up and sit-down forklifts, and manual pallet jacks.

• Palletize, label, stretch wrap, and prepare outbound shipments.

• Match freight with paperwork (Bills of Lading, Manifests).

• Stage and organize cargo safely and efficiently.

• Use Warehouse Management System or booking sheets to track inventory.

• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the warehouse.

• Perform stock checks, packing, and inventory reporting as needed.

• Site-specific tasks may include bonded freight handling, DFT compliance, and weekly bond checks.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Age 18+
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Strong physical stamina

Preferred:

• High school diploma or GED

• Warehouse/freight forwarding experience

• Familiarity with shipping documents

• Spanish-speaking ability (site-specific)

Work Environment:

• Fast-paced, hands-on role

• Attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance

• Flexible scheduling may be required at some sites
